• "Taylor has been wonderful to work with for premarital counseling! We have enjoyed and gained a lot from each session we have had with her. She has taught us a lot about communication and has guided us through important conversations to have before we get married. If you are interested in impactful premarital counseling, we highly recommend Taylor."

    Maggie M.

In premarital and marriage counseling, my overall goal is always to promote dialogue, understanding, and connection. I want couples to leave their work with me feeling more confident, prepared, and equipped with the tools and mentality they need to thrive in marriage. But, even more than that, my first priority is ensuring that both partners feel comfortable, accepted, and heard by me. Many clients and colleagues have described my approach as comforting, calming, insightful, and motivating.

About Me

I’m a firm believer that when we know better, we do better. Relationships are no different. That’s why I strongly believe in the value of education, premarital counseling, and proactive marriage counseling.

Marriage is a journey of continuously learning about yourself and your partner. I know this from firsthand experience! I’ve been married for over six years and through different seasons in marriage - the honeymoon stage, supporting each other through career changes, moving to new cities, navigating relationships with extended family members, welcoming a new baby, navigating parenthood, and many more joys and hardships. Through all of these ups and downs we’ve evolved as individuals and as partners. At each new stage, there were new things to learn.

Relationships can be challenging at times, but also incredibly rewarding and meaningful. I believe our most valued relationships are always worth the effort, commitment, and investment.

Experience

I received my masters degree from Northcentral University in Marriage and Family Therapy, with a specialization in couples therapy. I’m currently practicing as a Registered Intern (License # IMT3958) supervised by Dr. Elizabeth Mahaney.

I am a Certified Prepare-Enrich Facilitator and a Certified SYMBIS Assessment Facilitator. Both of these are premarital education programs that offer individualized assessments that provide couples with their unique relationship strengths and growth areas.

I am trained in Gottman Method Level 1 Couples Therapy. The Gottman’s utilize a highly effective approach derived from four decades of research with more than 3,000 couples.

My approach is rooted in:

  • Offering a foundation for relationship education and skills.

  • Deepening the understanding and communication of emotions to promote closeness and connection.

  • Assisting clients with identifying their core relationship values and taking the steps to take actions aligned with those values.
